There’s some seriously cool gear that will elevate your next trip experience. We pulled out some of our favorite innovative and useful gear of 2019.

Solar String Lights
MPowered makes some awesome gear – notably their inflatable solar lights. This year they unveiled 18 feet of solar-powered string lights that can shine for up to 20 hours. These would add some serious charm to your campsite or sleep area. Bonus: they can charge devices via the USB port on the battery pack.

Folding Cooler
Sure there are some indestructible, refrigerator-level coolers out there, but can any of them fold down to 4 inches? Kelty has finally given us a durable, functioning, collapsible cooler. Your RV will have a fridge, but this cooler is an excellent addition to your camping kit because it stores almost flat and can carry food and drinks for picnics and outings. Bonus: it comes with koozies!

Camp Blanket
Looking for the ultimate travel blanket? Your search is over. Coalatree’s variety of Kachula blankets are an all-in-one steal: waterproof, packable, travel pillow, secret pocket, convertible into poncho (with hood) or makeshift sleeping bag. They are perfect for days at the beach, sitting around the campfire, or cozied up in bed. Bonus: these are made from 100% recycled materials.

Camp Chair
This camp chair is a little on the pricey side, but for good reason: you’ll never need to replace it. This chair has won design awards and is as comfortable as it is durable. It packs down into a 4x4x14 inch travel case and weighs a mere 2.1lbs. These are incredibly easy to store and pack and set up in seconds.

Cast Iron
Lodge Cast Iron is revered as the ultimate American-made camp cooking tools. It’s hard to pick just one thing to feature but we think their new Wildlife Series is pretty cool! They come in plenty of different sizes and styles (griddle, skillets, grill pans) and with a number of different creatures featured on the bottom. The cookware is perfect for campfire cooking and will last a lifetime.

Enamel Mugs
Get those camp vibes going with some seriously cute camp mugs. These classic enamel mugs are great for your morning coffee or sipping drinks around the fire. They are super durable and will last years of use, and can also be used to boil water or eat out of. With so many to choose from, everyone in the group can enjoy their own style. We think they’re fun enough to use at home and in the great outdoors!

Single Hammock
What is a trip without some serious R&R? Kammok’s ultra portable series of hammocks are going to become your new travel essential. Their Roo Single is small enough to fit in your pocket. Sling them up between two sturdy posts or trees and forget all your worries. This one holds up to 400lbs, so pile in! Lounge length-wise or across in silky rip-stop fabric that refuses to tear.
